| Back on the scene three years ago after a two year closing
for a complete renovation, this legendary hotel underwent a 2.5-million dollar
restoration. |

accompanied by music in the Sunset Lounge located just off the lobby. |
| All of the rooms, suites and bungalow rooms and suites are
beautifully furnished in Art-Deco style to impart a home-like, residential
quality. |
| Many of the more private palm-shaded bungalows have
wood-burning fireplaces, whirlpool baths, and balconies or patios. |

| The renovation preserved a work of fine art, with great
care taken to retain all of the original Art-Deco touches and returned
everything to 1920s mint condition. Major behind-the-scenes construction,
included a much needed revamping of the air conditioning, new plumbing and
electric and so forth. |
| By eliminating some of the smaller guest quarters, the room
count was reduced from 254 to 192 more spacious accommodations. |
| There are luxurious, over-sized bathrooms, and walk-in
closets. |
| But to hotel guests, the place looks like it did in its
heyday when Will Rogers and Spencer Tracy were frequent guests and Elizabeth
Taylor was honeymooning with a new husband. |
| In addition to the Polo Lounge and Polo Grill, the poolside
Cabaña Cafe offers casual fare and refreshments. There is also a new
ballroom and updated public areas, but the banana-leaf wallpaper in the
corridors remains. |
| A fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment allows
hotel guests an opportunity to maintain their workout regimen. |
