| The restaurant, "Erna's Elderberry House",with its European
country-estate atmosphere, is divided into three lovely dining areas, each
adorned with antique French provincial furnishings, magnificent tapestries, and
original oil paintings. A stately terrace with a commanding view of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains adds to the fabulous ambiance. |

| Erna opened this highly acclaimed restaurant in 1984, and
served as the guiding chef and owner. Her daughter, Renée-Nicole Kubin,
a renowned sommelier, designed the award-winning wine list. When Erna decided
to build on her dream and to open Hotel Château du Sureau, (Sureau is

elegant crest open to reveal the stately 9000 square foot stucco Inn, complete
with a stone turret, parisian balconies and shuttered windows, all on seven
acres of meticulously landscaped park grounds. Chambermaids, attired in black
dress and white lace linen aprons, present baskets of cookies and tea. There is
no front desk, no check in, no credit card imprinting (only a hand written bill
discreetly presented before guests leave), and no televisions in the guest's

Chef at Erna's Elderberry House Restaurant in Oakhurst, California. He lovingly

| The Estate by the Elderberries is located in Oakhurst,
California, just 20 minutes from the South Gate of Yosemite Park. With
convenient access to and from three major cities, the Estate is a short 45
minute drive from Fresno, about a 3 hour drive from the San Fransisco area, and
approximately 4 hours north of Los Angeles. International air service is
available in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with daily commuter flights to and
from Fresno. Car rental is available at all three locations. |
