|
| This popular guest ranch is situated on 2,000 high altitude
acres, and is less than two hours from Denver. Open June through September for
weekly stays (you'll need a whole week to partake of all of the activities!),
and mid- December through March on a daily or weekly basis. |
 |
| The Main Lodge is an elegantly appointed, two-story log
building that features a living room with a large open-hearth fireplace, a
library, dining room, bar, card room, guest registration office, and the
kitchen. |
|
|
| Guests congregate in the living room for after-dinner
entertainment and activities, relax with a good book, play the grand piano, or
enjoy an after-dinner drink by the fireplace. Across from the main lodge is the
Patio House, which serves as the ranch's recreation center where square dances,
western cookouts, and staff talent shows are held year-round. |
|
|
| Excellent meals are served family style. Families dine
together for breakfast, while children, teens, and their counselors dine
together before the adults for lunch and dinner. Families are reunited for the
evening's entertainment. There are separate children's programs for ages three
to five, six to twelve, and teens. |
|
|
| There are professional guides available for fly-fishing in
the many nearby lakes and streams. Children can also learn to fish at the
ranch's fishing pond, and the kitchen will cook up the catch-of-the-day. |
|
|
| Tennis is another popular diversion in the summer and fall.
There is a tennis professional available for guests who want to improve their
game. |
|
|
One of the favorite winter activities at the C Lazy U
Ranch is a sleigh ride with Levi & Strauss, the ranch's Belgian draft horse
team. |

|
| There are 41 accommodations that range from multi-room
suites, twin-bedded bedrooms for children, deluxe suites with fireplaces and
whirlpool bathtubs, to a secluded honeymoon cabin. |
|
|
| There are no TV's or telephones in the guestrooms. Public
phones are located in the main lodge and the office has on-site fax
capabilities. The theme here is rustic western ranch, and the Murray family
takes deserved pride in offering its guests a fun and memorable vacation (their
success is only partly measured by a 55% guest return ratio). |
|
|
| As you might expect, riding is very popular, and guests are
matched with their own horse (appropriate for their skill level) for the entire
week. Other activities include western cookouts, hay rides, square dancing,
trout fishing, tennis, racquet ball, paddle boating on the pond, nature hikes,
and shooting. Facilities include a heated, spring-fed outdoor swimming pool,
indoor spa, exercise equipment, game room, and TV room. |
|
|
| Both skeet and trap shooting are available. Additional
activities include golf at nearby Pole Creek Golf Course, white water rafting
on the Colorado River, boat rides and windsurfing on nearby lakes, mountain
biking, hiking, and scenic chair lift rides. |
|
|
| Winter activities include: horseback riding, indoor and
outdoor, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, telemark skiing, ice skating, and
downhill skiing at nearby Winter Park and Silver Creek Ski areas. The ranch
provides complimentary shuttle service to and from ski areas and nearby
towns. |

| The C lazy U ranch is located 97 miles west of
Denver/Denver International Airport (DIA), approximately 30 miles from
Kremmling Airport (private planes only) and 10 miles from Granby Airport
