Looking for exclusive, private, secure, and a brush with American nobility? The former winter estate of William and Rosamund Vanderbilt was built in the 1920's on 216-acre Fisher Island. Accessible only by boat, helicopter, seaplane, or auto ferry, (and watched over by a 50 person security staff), the island is secluded, yet located less than a half mile south of Miami Beach.

Guests are provided with a golf cart in order to get around the island. The island has its own firehouse and post office.

The North and South Cottages are original cottages built in the 1920's. North has two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, living room, marble floors, and terrace with Jacuzzi. South has two bedrooms, one bath, mosaic floor, kitchen, and terrace with Jacuzzi.

For discriminating diners, Fisher Island's six fine and casual restaurants run the gamut of culinary diversity: The gourmet dining of the elegant Vanderbilt Mansion. The casual atmosphere and beautiful views of Porto Cervo. The La Trattoria, evocative of the Italian Riviera. The sporting flavor of The Golfer's Grill, overlooking the 9th green.

This world-renowned facility offers 18, lighted tennis courts, 14 clay, two grass, and two hard surface courts, cited by Tennis magazine as one of the finest of its kind in the world.

The 22,000-square foot Spa combines the latest advancements in beauty services, fitness programming, relaxation, and body/skin care treatments in a serene tropical setting. To pamper guests "from head to toe," the Spa Internazionale also features the Salone de Bellezza, a full-service beauty salon. It offers hair styling and coloring, make-up lessons, manicures, pedicures, and more.

A fleet of three ferry boats service the island 24-hours a day. The ferry ride is 7 minutes and leaves every 15 minutes. The marinas can accommodate yachts more than 200 feet long.

The architecture is mostly low-rise, white Moorish-style buildings with red tile roofs. Accommodations vary from original estate cottages circa 1920's, to suites and guestrooms. Rosemary's Cottage is the most sumptuous accommodation with three bedrooms, three baths, formal living room, kitchen, and terrace with Jacuzzi.

Amenities include access to dining and recreational facilities, concierge services, golf cart for on-island transportation, champagne greeting at check-in, welcome basket in room, twice daily maid service, and daily newspaper.

The par-35, nine-hole golf course, designed by architect P. B. Dye, includes a double-ended driving range, clubhouse, and a pro shop. Nestled between the sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, The Links at Fisher Island combines spectacular views with challenging golf in a unique, tropical setting, where peacocks and pheasants stroll alongside fairways. Golfers tee-off while enjoying panoramic views of Miami's skyline, Miami Beach, and the majestic ships of the Port of Miami. Complementing the beautiful course is a two-tiered driving range with three putting greens, practice sand bunkers, and a teaching area that is home to a talented staff of teaching professionals.

For boat owners, Fisher Island boasts two, world-class deep-water marinas, with 131 slips reserved for residents, club members, and their guests. Water depths of 12 feet leading into the marina and 10 feet within the marina, along with entry breakwaters, assure calm and comfortable berths. Services include water, power, telephone, cable television, and 24-hour security.

You may not want to leave the island, but if you so choose, Miami is only seven minutes via Fisher Island ferries.

If cancellation of a reservation is not received 7 days or more days prior to arrival, the Club will retain the deposit. NOTE: The Holiday period requires prepayment of the room rate for the entire stay. A full refund will be made for cancellations of this period, provided notification is given 60 days prior to arrival. Otherwise, the Club will retain the full prepayment.
