| This spectacular four-bedroom, four-bathroom villa sits on four
acres of waterfront property which was formerly home to a 200-year
old plantation house named Hermitage. The house is fully staffed
with a cook, waiter, maids, and driver as needed. The four bedrooms
have western-facing outdoor terraces that overlook perfect sunsets
that reflect into the beautiful Caribbean. There are two,
air-conditioned master bedroom suites, each with king-size canopy
bed. In addition, there are two other bedrooms, one with a
queen-size canopy bed, and one with twin beds. |

| In building The Hermitage, emphasis was put on working with
Jamaican materials and skilled Jamaican craftspersons to achieve a
hand-made look that is both rare and unique. The house has floors of
either locally quarried pink marble or random-width guango wood.
Cut-stone walls grace the reception and living areas, and the fine
woodwork features built-in mahogany armoires, mahogany arches,
hand-crafted curved-top glass French doors and classic West Indian
louvers. The home possesses the most upscale finishes, including
marble showers, marble countertops, solid brass hardware and
bathroom fittings, and Jamaican furnishings. |

| One can always hear the sounds of the sea from the antique,
four-poster mahogany beds. The owner and architect of The Hermitage
is an architect based in Washington whose children were born in
Jamaica, and who continues to spend 3-6 months a year in Jamaica.
The large octagonal pool with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea
has seats with whirlpool jets on one side and a large deep end on
the other. |
