Huka Lodge
Huka Lodge is located in Taupo, in the central North Island of New Zealand and is the only "Leading Small Hotels of the World" property in the country.
How to get there: Huka Helicopter transfers from Auckland, Wellington and Rotorua. Enjoy the scenic wonders of the central North Island and be delivered to the front lawn of Huka Lodge. Auckland to Huka Lodge - 1 hr 15 min, Wellington to Huka Lodge - 1 hr 35 min, and Rotorua to Huka Lodge 25 mins. Driving by rental car or limousine generally takes 3 hours from Auckland, 4.5 hours from Wellington and 1 hour from Rotorua.
The Trophy Room is created especially for small conferences and business meetings (up to 20 people) or for private receptions (up to 40 people). A notable feature is the fine collection of African hunting trophies decorating the walls. Comprehensive technical equipment is available, supported by full secretarial services. The Trophy Room is also suitable as a day room and for private guest dining.
The bathrooms all have under-floor heating. A sunken bath is complemented by a separate shower and double handbasins.
The dining room is spacious in its proportions and elegant in design. A place where guests come together for good food and fine wine punctuated with easy laughter and conversation.
The chalets contain two 700 sq. ft suites each with their own stone fireplace, large bathrooms, lake deck and private courtyards. The Chalet Suites are available individually or can be combined with an additional spacious living room to create the 1400 sq. ft Richardson Staterooms.
WHITE & BLACK WATER RAFTING Fabulous day trips on either the Tongariro or Rangitaiki Rivers. Lots of adrenalin, lots of fun and an abundance of white water and rapids.
There are eight golf courses available within a 30 minute drive of Huka Lodge. The nearby Wairakei International Golf Course is a favourite with guests and the venue for the popular 'Huka Lodge Classic' Golf Tournament held every year.

Huka Lodge is surrounded by magnificent natural beauty. The crystal clear waters of Lake Taupo are fed by mountain streams and are home to some of the most sought-after Rainbow trout in the world. The spectacular and mighty cascades of water forming the Huka Falls are a short walk from Huka Lodge, on the banks of the Waikato River.
Your arrival point at Huka Lodge is also where guests gather to breakfast before setting off for their day’s activities, to have a drink before dinner and to sit beside the log fire reading a magazine while gazing toward the river from time to time.
Situated in seven hectares of park-like grounds Huka Lodge has only 20 guest suites all just 20 metres from the river amongst mature trees. The suites are very secluded, offering every comfort - from mini-bar to walk-in dressing room. The suites are spacious, light and very peaceful with slatted wooden, outdoor terraces.
Just across from the main Lodge building, under a knoll and down a short flight of steps is the wine cellar. With vaulted ceilings and four side chambers, it has an ambience all of its own. Cellaring for thousands of bottles of New Zealand and the world's finest wines provides a remarkable backdrop to this dining space.
The Owners Cottage sits on an elevated and sunny promontory above the Waikato River, within the grounds of Huka Lodge. Virtually completely hidden from sight, Owner's Cottage enjoys stunning views, downriver towards the mighty Huka Falls. The picturesque, white wooden cottage was built in 1937 for Americans Commander and Mrs Fitzhugh Green of Long Island, on land leased from Alan Pye. It is now known as the owner's cottage and is available as an annex to Huka Lodge. The Owners Cottage offers a high level of privacy and comfort and is ideal for a private party of guests. All Huka Lodge facilities are available including dining.
TANDEM SKYDIVING In spectacular crisp air with huge views - freefall from 9,000 feet and truly know the sheer exhilaration such adventure brings.
LAKE FISHING A boat can take you to the many isolated coves and bays fringing the edges of the great lake. Here you can trawl for Rainbow trout, swim and picnic near the beautiful crystal-clear water.

In order to confirm a reservation, we require a deposit of 25% of the total stay, or a credit card number with expiry date as a guarantee. CANCELLATION In the event that we are unable to replace a cancelled booking, the following applies: 25% of the total cost will be charged if a booking is cancelled between 8 and 30 days prior to arrival. Should cancellation be received 7 days prior to arrival there will be a 100% charge for every room night cancelled.
