The Town of St. Andrews is at the crossroads of British and American history. It was settled by loyalists after the American Revolutionary War, and the streets were named after the children of King George III. In 1897 Kingsbrae Arms was built as a family home by a sea captain involved in merchant trade with Shanghai. Today, many of the rare Chinese porcelains, screens, tables, jades, and other artifacts which the family imported can be seen at the Charlotte County Historical Society Museum nearby.

New Brunswick is a natural garden spot on the globe. Its geography has been likened to the rolling green countryside of Ireland. Deep, verdant river valleys run north and south in the province, the water coursing toward the Bay of Fundy and the Atlantic Ocean. The town of St. Andrews is virtually a micro-climate. It is located at the tip of a peninsula of land which juts into the Bay of Fundy, and enjoys the moderating trade winds of the Gulf Stream in summer and winter.
