Mayflower Inn
This 19th century country house hotel set on 28 manicured acres is not your typical New England Inn. Located a mere two hours from New York City this idyllic and elegant inn has twenty-five decorator-designed guest rooms and suites in three separate buildings.
In the manner of Europe's great country houses, the Mayflower is a country house hotel of splendid proportions and exquisite attention to detail.
The furnishings in the spacious guest rooms feature chintz window treatments, 18th - 19th century prints on the walls, and dark antique furniture.
The elegant baths are luscious with twin basin marble vanities, soaking tubs, stall showers, brass fittings and baskets of toiletries.
The Mayflower's clebrated sommelier has put together one of the country's most original cellars, diverse yet classical. These fine wines and all the finest spirits can be enjoyed in the Piano Bar (pictured above).
Select a classic or mystery novel from the cozy, sumptuously-paneled library, or enjoy a walk on the 28-acres of century-old rhododendrons and stately maples integrated with rare specimen trees, classic New England stone walls, running streams, and rolling hills; all within the sound of church bells ringing from the nearby green.
On the garden level of the main house, the state-of-the-art Mayflower Fitness Club is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00p.m. A private club to which hotel guests are extended membership privelages during their stay, it features the latest in Paramount weight-training machines, treadmills, step machines, and stationary bicycles.
Amenities include: Cable Television and Pay Per View channels. Two line phones, with speakerphone, voice mail and data port. Fax machines are available for guest use. Limousine service can be arranged. The Teahouse is a separate building for meetings or conferences.

In the spring of 1992 Washington residents Adriana and Robert Mnuchin brought a fine tradition gloriously back to life. Their Mayflower is more than an inn.
The Mayflower (main inn) has eleven rooms and four suites, the Speedwell annex has four rooms and one suite and the Standish annex has two rooms and three suites.
Each guest room has leather-topped armoires and desks, a love seat or two armchairs, Chippendale desk, and a four-poster or half-tester bed covered with Frette linens, duvets, afghans, and handmade quilts.
Fireplaces forever burning...Sherry always on the sideboard...Tabriz rugs softly underfoot...the impeccably appointed rooms and suites are at the romantic heart of the Mayflower experience.
There is a heated outdoor seasonal pool with poolhouse on the hill above the rose garden. The Mayflower's grounds are a walker's paradise. Specimen trees with wonderful sounding names like Weeping Blue Atlas Cedar meet the knot gardens of boxwood and red barberry with wild flower cutting gardens beyond.
Recreational activities include: Golf and other activities nearby, Omni tennis court, walking and mountain hiking trails and a game room with a 19th century pool table.
