The Marbles Suite: An antique pine king bed, and a watercolor of koi fish give character and style to this very private room overlooking the courtyard. This room features a large separate sitting area with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a spa tub for two looking onto the hill and woods behind the Inn. The Ivory Room...The sun streams warmth into this room with a fireplace and sitting area which looks to the south with Occidental's Community church and steeple etched against the horizon of California redwoods. Antique beds from the Innkeeper's grandparents are now reconfigured into a king bed. Displayed is a collection of uniquely wonderful and dramatic antique ivory netsuke carvings used by the Japanese as toggles to hold their monies and other valuables when they wore the traditional kimono. The Tiffany Room: A beautiful and elegant suite surrounding the front of the Inn with gracious views of gardens and the redwoods from every window. A canopied four-poster mahogany Charleston queen bed faces an antique woodburning fireplace. Bodega Bay & Bodega Head: Whale-watching, sportfishing, and surfing are popular sports along the coast. Camping, horseback riding, hiking, and beachcombing are exhilarating experiences as well. An 18-hole links-style golf course, shops, restaurants, and the University of California Marine Laboratory are other attractions. Continuing south to the village of Bodega, you will find the quaint St. Theresa's church and schoolhouse of Alfred Hitchcock's classic movie, "The Birds". Returning to The Inn along Joy Road, you climb from sea level through towering redwoods to The Inn.

When you wake in the morning, you'll find freshly brewed coffee and a variety of teas available in the living room and in the Wine Cellar dining room. The Inn prides itself on its coffee. The coffee, called Jack's Blend, is ground with each new pot; it's available at 7 each morning in the living and dining rooms with the local and San Francisco newspapers; on Sundays, the New York Times is also available.

Winery Tours and Tasting: The Russian River "Wine Road" begins a few miles from The Inn and meanders through the Russian River Valley with its many microclimates and six grape growing appellations. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in the cooler Russian River region are exceptional. The Green Valley, Chalk Hill, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, and Russian River Valley encompass about 26,000 acres of grapes producing world class wines. The area is also rich in produce from organic farms.

2003 Daily Double Rates: Rates from $195 to $320, plus tax. Included in these rates is a gourmet country breakfast; refreshments are served in the afternoon and Sonoma County wine in the evening. Children age 10 years and older are welcome. Cash, checks, and major credit cards are accepted.
