| Papoose Creek Lodge is an eco lodge in Southwest Montana's
upper Madison River Valley, 40 minutes from one of our nation's jewels,
Yellowstone National Park. |
|
|
| The lodge can accommodate 16 guests. Five oversized double
bedrooms with en suite bathrooms in the main lodge; one single level cabin with
king size bed and fireplace, two two-level cabins with twin beds and en suite
bathrooms. |
|
|
| Moose- (Room Five) East-facing, elegant second-floor guest
room with a king-sized bed, spacious walkout balcony overlooking Papoose Creek,
aspens, and Montana's Big Sky. Amenities include a sitting area, writing desk,
a selection of books, a compact disc stereo with a built in alarm clock and
selected discs, and the oversized modern bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, separate
shower and radiant heated floor. (The room can be configured as a twin-bedded
room). |
|
|
| Dining is a leisurely affair and the four courses served
for dinner will showcase chef Jeff Miller's creative flair - as well as give
you a taste of Montana's food sources. Jeff sources Montana's finest
ingredients including small-herd, grass-fed beef, and naturally raised pork,
lamb and poultry. Additionally, he's forged relationships with the area's
organic farmers to fill the Papoose Creek pantry with fresh and flavorful
vegetables. Make a note to visit with Jeff and his dynamic culinary team in the
open kitchen when you stay at the lodge. |
|
|
| Osprey- (Cabin One) This well-appointed one-level cabin
with a stone fireplace and a king-sized bed features views in every direction,
ample sitting room area and deck, a selection of books, a wet bar and a compact
disc stereo with a built in alarm clock and a selection of discs. The

radiant-heated tiles. (This cabin can also be configured with twin beds.) |
|
|
| Casting in the legendary rivers of Southwest Montana and
the Yellowstone, made famous by movies such as "A River Runs Through It", is an
experience not to be missed. Papoose Creek Lodge caters to the experienced and
novice fly fisherman. Guests at Papoose Creek are privileged to fish the Blue
Ribbon waters of the nearby Madison, the Gallatin, Henry's Fork, the
Yellowstone and the Firehole Rivers. These rivers are all renowned for their
excellent dry fly action. In addition, guests can enjoy lake fly fishing on
nearby Cliff, Wade, Quake and Hebgen Lakes. |

|
|
| The rooms have been designed with great charm and attention
to detail, while offering guests a taste of Montana. Luxurious furnishing and
paintings by local wildlife and western artists give an individual touch. Each
room has a balcony or a walk-out porch with comfortable chairs; spacious
bathrooms feature radiant-heated floor tiles. Room amenities consist of gentle
organic soaps, shampoos and lotions, soft robes, electric fans and CD players.
Literature in each room includes novels by western writers, as well as bird,
flower and nature guides. |
|
|
| Each of the three freestanding cabins is just a short walk
from the main lodge and offers a guest room and private bathroom. The deluxe
cabin boasts a stone fireplace and whirlpool tub. The cabins blend well into
the rugged environment as they are built of reclaimed barn wood and Wyoming
snow fencing. |
|
|
| Cutthroat- (Cabin Two) This rustic hillside two-level cabin
is just 50 yards from the lodge and surrounded by forest. A spacious sitting
area, a desk, a selection of books, a south-facing deck with views in every
direction complements the two full-sized beds. Amenities include a wet bar,
fridge, compact disc stereo with a built in alarm clock and selection of discs.
The over-sized bathroom has a deep soaking tub/shower and features radiant
heated tiles. |
|
|
| The pristine waters in this area support abundant
populations of wild rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout. The fishing
program focuses on the quality of the total experience; excellent catching
opportunities, beautiful scenery, and the professional guides who help guests
enjoy great fishing as well as the area's fascinating flora, fauna and colorful
history. Every month from May through September the fishing is at its best, and
fisherman can expect dry weather and good water conditions throughout this
season. |
|
|
| Hiking, horseback riding, canoe excursions and wildlife
watching also acquaint you with this spectacular region in the Big Sky State.
Whether you ride the range with seasoned wranglers, take a canoe trip with a
gourmet picnic, or simply listen to the rustle of aspens from the wrap-around
deck, you'll come away with a deeper appreciation of the Rocky Mountain
landscape and the importance of the wilderness as a precious resource. |
