Following your arrival in Providenciales, a Parrot Cay driver will meet you at the airport and take you to Leeward Marina (15 minutes) to board a Parrot Cay launch. Parrot Cay is about 35 minutes by launch from Leeward Marina.

The Parrot Cay staff will meet you at the dock to handle your bags and escort you via golf cart to the registration area.

As you enter the registration area, a cool and refreshing towel is offered to wipe away any perspiration from your travels.

Rolf Rothermel of Rothermel Cooke Smith designed Parrot Cay's timber-clad buildings and negative-edge swimming pool to merge into the island's landscape naturally and beautifully.

The bar and lounge is a good place to meet with friends and enjoy cocktails prior to dinner. Or step outside on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful views of the Caribbean.

Start the day with a hearty breakfast which is available in the dining room beginning at 7:00am every morning.

The poolside bar is the focal point for refreshments during the day and in the evening.

In addition to the lighted tennis courts, Providenciales provides a challenging 18-hole championship golf course and an attractive Clubhouse for members and non-members alike. The Provo Golf Club is a 6,560 yard, par 72, superbly conditioned course that is considered the jewel of the Turks & Caicos Islands and is ranked in the 10 best golf courses in the Caribbean.

In addition to the 3.2 miles of white sand beaches, the resort has two, lighted tennis courts, a 5,500 square foot infinity swimming pool, air-conditioned gym, Hobie-Cats, windsurfers, canoes, and more.

The 5,500 sq. ft. infinity edge pool seems to blend into the ocean.

No jet-skies, few power boats, and a barrier reef a short distance off shore guarantee calm water. The Bill, Bone and Fly-Fishing is excellent, which is why the Islands are famous for hosting the Annual International Billfish Tournament in July.

The six, one- and two-bedroom beach houses are steps from the Caribbean and a few steps from the pool restaurant and the gymnasium.

The two-bedroom Beach Houses, each have a private pool, living room, and a deck close enough to the ocean to hear the gentle waves at night.

The three-bedroom villa has two bedrooms with king-size beds, and a third bedroom with twin beds. There is a private pool, three bathrooms, a kitchen complete with a butler, large living/dining room and two screened porches.

The Turks & Caicos Islands are a conglomerate of eight principal islands and more than 40 smaller cays of which Parrot Cay is a member. These islands are located approximately 575 miles or a 1 hour and 20 minute flight southeast of Miami.

Getting There: American Airlines has flights from Miami into Providenciales (90 minutes) and from New York to Parrot Cay (3.5 hours). Hotel staff meets guests at the airport to transport them to the marina (10 minutes) for the short 25 minute boat ride to the resort.

As you pass in front of the resort, you will see that Parrot Cay’s topography slopes up from the ocean to a ridge along the center of the island, whose elevation is about 50 feet. Crystal clear turquoise waters surround its 3.2 miles of white sand beaches. Groves of cacti, thickly entwined scrub, spreading mangroves, and wetlands accent the beauty of the island's 1,000 secluded acres.

The main building houses the registration desk, bar, restaurant, gift shop, and library.

Each of the Oceanview Rooms have a terrace offering beautiful views of the gin-clear water.

The guestroom interiors were designed by United Designers in London, and are elegant and simple with four-poster beds covered with a romantic gauzy screen of mosquito netting, and a lavish use of white fabrics.

The dining room in the main building is surrounded by floor to ceiling glass doors that lead to an outside terrace.

The pool restaurant (pictured above) serves lunch and dinner daily.

Dinner at Parrot Cay is a special event with cuisine that is some of the best in the Caribbean.

The library is great for a game of pool, checking the internet on one of two computers, enjoying a video game, or just checking out a good book. There is also a large TV to keep you up to date on your favorite shows or the world's events.

Fresh snapper is an excellent choice for lunch at the poolside restaurant.

Parrot Cay is a place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of this 1,000 acre island with no night life, and a limited number of fortunate guests. Many celebrities, including Liam Neeson, Raquel Welch, Paul McCartney, and honeymooners M/M Jerry Seinfeld, have discovered this quiet hideaway.

The air-conditioned gym is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including: Cybex VR machines, PreCor EFX, cross trainers, bicycles, Stairmaster climbers, and Ivanko free weights. All guests of Parrot Cay, sixteen years and older, have complimentary use of the spa facilities during their stay. This includes use of all cardiovascular and resistance equipment, fitness classes, spa pool, wet areas, and locker rooms.

Each of the Beach Houses are well landscaped and have private entrances.

The bathrooms in the Beach Houses feature a tub and seperate stall shower.

On a recent visit I walked to the end of the island and the only footprints on the beach were mine.
