| The hotel was built in 1857, the year of the inauguration
of the Suez Canal, by Edmond Petit as a private town house at number 14, rue
Jean Goujon, which later became number 12. For the Parisians of that period and
indeed ever since, this district was very fashionable. |

the 44, air-conditioned bedrooms and suites, fabrics from France's most
exclusive houses in harmony with the period furniture, the fine paintings, fine
china, and bronzes. |

André Terrail (father of the present owner of the famous restaurant "La
Tour d'Argent"), bought this private town house in order to accommodate his
foreign customers in a comfortable hotel. Consequently, the San-Régis
became the second home of many celebrities such as Lauren Bacall, Gene Kelly,
Romy Schneider, Jacqueline Bisset, Candice Bergen, Louis Malle, etc. |

|
| With only 25 seats, the exquisite restaurant conjures up
