Winters are mild in Amalfi…spring comes very early and summer ends late, with Indian summer extending well into the autumn months. The hotel is open year round.
Amalfi is unsurpassed as a central location for coastal touring and excursions to Pompeii, Herculaneum (Roman towns preserved in the volcanic ash that was thrown from Vesuvius in the great eruption of 79 A.D.). Paestum (which includes three of the best-preserved Greek temples in Europe), Ravello, Naples, Sorrento, Positano and Capri, each of which deserves at least a full day touring.

The hotel is situated at the summit of an extensive property, which begins along the Amalfi drive and tumbles down to the water on a series of landscaped natural terraces.
The spacious deluxe rooms feature original antiques and hand-painted ceramic tile floors.
The sea view bathrooms offer five-star amenities including brass fixtures, heated towel bars, Jacuzzi tub, and a lot of privacy amidst the natural splendors of the Amalfi coast.
On the Upper level, the main dining room is unusually beautiful, with solid marble and lapis floor, perfect linens and china, tasteful floral table bouquets and garland on the ceiling and walls, a lush year-round display of flowering bougainvillea, which brings the outdoors into the dining room.
From mid-may to mid-October, lunch is served on a handsome terrace overlooking the sea and pool.
Elevators and scenic garden paths transport guests past citrus groves and gardens to the seaside level, which includes a seawater swimming pool, sunbathing decks, a gym, a cafè/bar and open-air restaurant.
