| A unique mountain resort, Strawberry Hill features 12
Georgian-style cottages ranging from studio suites to three-bedroom suites.
|
|
|
| The site of a working plantation since the late 1700's
(growing coffee and a variety of fruits, including strawberries), the property
became well known in the 1940's and 50's for its Sunday Tea. It was acquired in
1972 by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, who had often come to the
property for this weekly affair. |
|
|
| Cottages embody traditional 19th century Georgian
architecture with interior details to create a romantic atmosphere: dark
mahogany four-poster beds draped with a delicate canopy of muslin netting;
French doors; thick louvered windows; and spacious private verandas. Bathrooms
are simply furnished with terra cotta and hand-glazed tiles, and deep bathtubs.
