The Townhouse suites consist of living room with fireplace and wet bar downstairs and luxurious bedroom and bath upstairs. All rooms have either King-size or Queen-size beds. Only one of the rooms has double Queens available. Rollaways are available upon request.

At guest request, a shuttle service runs from the lobby to the restaurant. Specializing in fresh seafood, game and traditional fare, Executive Chef Matthew Millea at Ventana's restaurant Cielo serves California Cuisine emphasizing only the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Many of the herbs and fruits are from Ventana's own gardens. Ventana has two heated swimming pools, each four feet deep and 75 feet in length, with adjoining bathhouses containing Japanese Hot Baths and Sun Decks, one with its own sauna. All bathhouse and swimming facilities feature "clothing optional" areas, and are open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. The fitness room, with a variety of equipment including Stairmaster, treadmill, free weights and more, is open from dawn until dusk. Ventana is located 28 miles south of Carmel on Highway One, 150 miles south of San Francisco, and 300 miles north of Los Angeles. California's central coast is a mountainous region with remarkably sharp drops to sea level; one of the most dramatic meetings of land and sea in the world.

Every room has a private balcony or patio, with either distant ocean, forest or canyon mountain views. All have telephone, color TV with limited channels, mostly for use with VCR, and limited honor bar. Evening turndown service is available.

The library is a large room with a stone fireplace reaching from the floor to the top of the vaulted ceiling. Books line the shelves and a variety of daily newspapers are available. A large dining table and many plush couches and chairs fill the room; an outdoor, lattice-covered patio provides wonderful outdoor seating and a spectacular view of the Big Sur coast.

Cielo's architecture and setting are stunning. Sitting at the top of a bluff overlooking the Pacific, the dining room features an open-beam, vaulted ceiling supported by massive timbers. Windows provide views of the ocean and the surrounding hills. Shuttle service to the restaurant is provided, or for those who prefer a 15-minute walk, a wonderful, fully lighted trail leading from the restaurant to the accommodations winds through the wooded hillsides, past towering redwoods and massive old oaks. Every afternoon, complimentary wine, cheese and fresh fruit are served. The continental breakfast from Ventana's Bakery is also served in the lobby and the ocean view library each morning.

Ventana's modified European Plan includes a complimentary continental breakfast daily from 8:00 am to 10:30 am, served in the Lobby, Library, or upon request, on a a tray in your room( $10 delivery fee applies. ), as well as a complimentary wine and cheese buffet each afternoon between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. All weekend reservations require a minimum two-day stay throughout the year. The maximum number of persons per room is two. Reservations must be secured by a deposit in the amount of the first night's room rate, including tax, for weekdays, two nights on weekends. All deposits must be received not more than 14 days after your reservation is made. Reservations not secured by a deposit will be canceled. If you cancel, your deposit will be refunded as long as Ventana has been given notice of not less than 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival. Ventana is designed and operated for adult guests seeking a quiet atmosphere. We do not encourage parents to bring children as there are limited activities to entertain them and we do not have baby-sitting facilities available.
